Every Marvel Studios Movie and Disney Plus Project in 2022 and Beyond

Sam Raimi, director of the original “Spider-Man” trilogy, returns to superhero cinema with this “Doctor Strange” sequel starring Cumberbatch once more in the title role. Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor will all reprise their roles from the original “Doctor Strange,” with Ejiofor’s character, Karl Mordo, fully shifting from one of Dr. Stephen Strange’s allies to one of his enemies. Young actor Xochitl Gomez (“The Baby-Sitters Club”) will play America Chavez, who eventually becomes the superhero Miss America — the first openly LGBTQ Latinx character to headline their own comics series.
