Wolff says "difficult" winter put Mercedes behind

Toto Wolff says a disruptive winter has left Mercedes behind on understanding its Formula 1 car amid a stern challenge from Ferrari following changes to the technical regulations. The team was forced to find a replacement for world champion Nico Rosberg after the German announced his retirement from the sport just a few days after clinging the tittle. Technical chief Paddy Lowe also left Mercedes after the end of the season to join Williams.
